(A.K.A.; Minister of Mongrel Migration, Patriarchal Pet Puller, Founder &
Dean of Doggie Distribution)
Every once and while a combination of happy ideas whirls together out of
necessity, good will…and the urge to get in the car and just drive
somewhere. The
Go-Paws and Doggie Transport Guy organizations were set in
motion by just such an occurrence.
Once upon a cold winter in January 2005, George Peyton, a successful
Entrepreneur from Central Ohio, set out to help his wife Betty relocate a
dog from
the shelter that Betty works at, to a new home eight hours away in
Windsor, Canada.
On that fateful day, George Peyton’s love of dogs, driving and audio books,
came together as he packed up his SUV for the trip. Once he had loaded a
doggie carrier, a sad eyed Blue Tick Hound cutie named “
Cassandra”, an
eight hour action adventure audio book on compact discs, a bag of pretzels,
beef jerky, bottle water and his passport he set off for Toronto Canada on
what would latter become known as the “
maiden voyage of the minister of
mongrel migration”.
Mr. Peyton asserts that the “
happy” experience of placing a dog in need of a
home into the hopeful hands of a loving family, and the adventures of the
journey “
hooked him” on the idea to develop DTG. Animal Shelters are in
constant need of locating new homes for animals, and when there are few
local options, Doggie Transport Guy not only “
comes to the rescue”, but
they now do it in the new DTG transport vehicle, picking up the pets, ready
and able to go the distance.
In addition to the gratifying experiences found in “
match-making” for
animals and families, many of Mr. Peyton’s diverse interests happen to
intersect perfectly with his travels. He enjoys a wide array of compatible
interests for his noble travels including; the hunt for collectible antiques
and books, discovering new restaurants, listening to music, listening to
audio books, and driving anything made by Automobile manufacturer’s
Chrysler or
Dodge, all of which happen to combine very well with the heart
warming cause of DTG.
Mr. Peyton resides in his home in
London, Ohio with his wife Betty and their
dogs, HRothgar, Differ, Larmy and Harlem. Despite numerous requests from
all four of the animals, Mr. Peyton continues to decline their requests to
actually drive the DTG Cruiser.
